The Place
We are a venue with a difference. Embercombe is a beautiful fifty acre small-holding on the edge of Haldon forest just seven miles from Exeter and one mile from the Dartmoor National Park. It is comprised of twenty acres of mature broadleaf woodland, a wildlife lake, south-facing meadows, a stone circle, and an organic orchard and garden. The farm is currently being developed.  Two yurt villages are located on the land accommodating either 21 or 28 persons. Each yurt has a wood burning stove and both villages have compost toilets. When you come to Embercombe you can have the experience of cooking for yourselves in a group or bring your own caterers. At certain seasons of the year you will be able to use produce from our own organic gardens. If it fits in with your programme we will encourage you to join in some of the physical activities that keep us all warm and well fed – working on land and in the kitchen. We will invite you to experience the land of Embercombe after dark around our campfires when stories are shared.

Located just outside Exeter looking towards Dartmoor National Park, we are a very manageable 2.25 hour train journey from London Paddington. Exeter airport is under half an hour away, and the M5/A38 passes within 10 minutes of our gates.
