We are offering this programme to schools for activities/enrichment week 2014 for students aged between 11 and 15. Presenting a unique opportunity to experience first hand and handson many of the bushcraft activities and survival techniques they will have seen on TV with Bear Grylls and Ray Mears.
This is a fabulous multi-day residential programme where young people wild camp in self built shelters or sleep under the stars (or in our cosy yurt village!) forage, harvest and prepare food from our gardens and woodlands (including squirrel and rabbit!), learn wildcraft skills such as fire making, green woodworking, hunting tool making, stalking skills and making rafts in our wildlife lake.
All activities are centred around having fun and developing new talents, providing participants with a challenging, never to be forgotten experience, connecting them with the world that we live in and contributing towards a stronger bond with their peergroup. This is a unique, unmissable wilderness experience for your young people.
Other activities include making pizzas in the clay pit pizza ovens, learning sustainable building skills and orienteering on Dartmoor.
We can organise additional activities as part of your residential programme include rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, horse riding and zip wiring in tree tops.*
Whilst this is a residential programme we do also offer daily activities click here for a sample daily activities programme which are full of adventure and opportunities to develop new skills.
Prices start at £12.50 + VAT per pupil per day and from £45 + VAT per pupil for residential, dependent on numbers and programme content. So for a 3 day and 2 night programme it would cost £102.50 exclusive of VAT. We think this presents excellent value for money and we hope it will mean that no student is excluded from taking part on price. We do have a bursary scheme for students that would still find it difficult to raise the costs outlined above.
