Elizabeth GorlaElizabeth Gorla

Elizabeth’s background in philosophy, literature and printmaking eventually led her to direct opera and theatre and brought her to the UK in 1987. Her work in this arena ranged from directing large-scale community projects to premieres of contemporary classics; from European tours to education projects with young people on issues of bullying, self-esteem and social inclusion. Perfect preparation, it transpired, for integrating creative processes within the realm of people & organisation development, which she was invited to do in the mid-90s by Pathways – Spirit in Business, then a leading UK consultancy and now integrated in the Embercombe enterprise.

Today her work encompasses leadership development, culture change, team facilitation, executive coaching and environmental / social justice. Her approach is intuitive and holistic, and is informed by her understanding of the transformational power of presence; her recognition that humans are not only physical and mental beings, but also emotional and spiritual ones; and her appreciation that at the heart of change stand personal responsibility, awareness and choice.

Elizabeth is learning the harp and loves to make music with others. She feels that the environmental and social issues that confront us today also challenge us to consider more deeply what we care about and what we choose to make with our life; and she delights in accompanying others in this journey of exploration, discovery and expansion.
